The 14th Anniversary of Aaliyah’s Death : Classic Videos and Pictures

Today marks the 14th anniversary of the tragic death of R&B singer Aaliyah. Born  on January  16th, 1979, in Brooklyn, New York as Aaliyah Dana Haughton, Aaliyah and her family relocated to Detroit, Michigan when she was a child. She was known as the Queen of R&B way before Beyonce was known as Queen Bey , Queen B or the Diva. Aaliyah got her first exposure as she appeared on Star Search in 1983, where she completely awed and amazed the crowd with her light hearted voice. She was cherished by all in the music industry from genres like pop, rock, rap, funk, and r&b She lost her life in a terrible airplane accident on August 25th, 2001 after shooting a video for her album and while working on a film.
